What made you want to start aavrani?

While we have had fierce entrepreneurial spirits ever since we can remember, we’ve spent our careers to date learning everything we could from the world of finance. Through our time in investment banking and private equity, we’ve developed strong technical foundations, particularly in terms of valuing, investing in, and scaling companies. Now, we are ready to execute on this knowledge via a vision we truly believe in. We couldn’t be more thrilled to work on a venture that aligns our interests and passions — consumer products, value creation, and social impact. Not to mention, we are learning new things every day. Building our company continues to push us to develop ourselves, both personally and professionally, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Why is aavrani important?

We are innovating a space for over 3 million under-served women in the U.S., while combating deep-rooted cultural stereotypes; aavrani empowers women to embrace their natural beauty and celebrate themselves as they are. Our combination of ancient rituals, all-natural ingredients, and philanthropic purpose uniquely differentiates us in the luxury skincare market.

What is your previous startup experience?

The team recently helped build a U.S. based, Japan-influenced skincare brand. This experience in ethnic inspired skincare will help us as we think about launching and growing aavrani.
