Student Life

LGBT

An important part of diversity at Wharton is our lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community. Wharton prides itself on its open and accepting environment for members of all communities with member and allies in its student population, staff and faculty. Both Wharton and the University of Pennsylvania are widely recognized as leaders in LGBT inclusion.

OUT4BIZ

Wharton's Out for Business (Out4Biz) serves as the center of this vibrant community, providing guidance to prospective students during the application process, serving as a professional and social club throughout a student's two years at Wharton, and as a lifelong network to alumni after graduation. Out4Biz welcomes all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, and ally MBA students as members; membership is confidential and individuals do not have to be "out" to join.

Out4Biz also serves as a gateway for company recruitment at Wharton. From coffee chats and informal mentoring relationships, to formal dinners and recruiting presentations, Out4Biz partners with select firms interested in attracting and retaining the best LGBT talent.

Applicants from the LGBT community are encouraged to engage with Wharton through several channels. We encourage applicants to attend our diversity-focused presentations, as well as visit Wharton, dates, locations, and registration are available on the events section of our website.

In addition, Out4Biz encourages all applicants from the community to connect with the club during their application process so as to provide guidance and insight into Wharton. More »
