The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the IESE Business School, based in Spain, announced that the Wharton Global Family Alliance (Wharton GFA) has completed a survey of the landscape of Single Family Office (SFO), believed to be the largest and most diverse of its kind ever completed in the SFO space. SFOs are professional organizations who attend to wealth management and personal services for wealthy families.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa., May 2, 2008 -- The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania announced that student team Solixia, whose "Hot Dot” cancer treatment platform is the size of a small protein fragment yet 20 times more powerful in diagnosing and treating cancer than currently used radiopharmaceuticals, won the $20,000 grand prize of the 2008 Wharton Business Plan Competition, which is celebrating its 10th Anniversary. The prize was awarded at the Wharton School's annual Venture Finals April 30, 2008 where student finalists received a total of $73,000 in combined cash prizes, access to capital and in-kind legal/accounting services.
The Wharton School and INSEAD Renew Alliance for Four More Years
Philadelphia, Fontainebleau, France and Singapore, April 30, 2008 -- Thomas S. Robertson, dean of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and J. Frank Brown, dean of INSEAD, announced the renewal of the partnership between the two schools for four more years. PHILADELPHIA, PA., April 10, 2008 — The Wharton Business Plan Competition has announced the eight finalists who will vie for $70,000 in prizes at the annual Venture Finals taking place Wednesday, April 30 at the Wharton School's Jon M. Huntsman Hall, on the University of Pennsylvania campus. The event is free and open to the public.
New Global Business/Environmental Initiative Launched
Wharton Professor Eric Orts is the founding director of the Global Environmental Leadership Initiative, a cross-disciplinary endeavor with faculty from Penn’s schools of Arts and Sciences, Design, Engineering and Applied Science, Law and Medicine. The Initiative’s first annual conference, Business and the Environment, will take place at Penn on April 15-16, 2008.
