Wharton School Announces 2007 Global Alumni Forum
Locations in Hong Kong, Costa Rica and Switzerland
Former Vice President Al Gore to Speak on the Environment
Philadelphia, Pa., October 24, 2006 -- The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania announced that the 2007 Wharton Global Alumni Forums will be held in Hong Kong, Costa Rica and Switzerland. Wharton Dean Patrick Harker will lead the delegation at each Forum.
The Hong Kong forum will be held on May 25-26, 2007 with the theme, "Up and Down the Capitalist Road." Charles W. Goodyear, IV, WG'83, chairman and chief executive officer of BHP Billiton, and Silas K. F. Chou, president and chief executive officer of Novel Holdings Limited, will both serve as two of the keynote speakers. Wharton Professors Jeremy Siegel, Eric Bradlow, Raffi Amit and Marshall Meyer will speak, lead panel discussions and teach master classes.
The Costa Rica forum will be held in San Jose on June 7-8, 2007 with the theme, "Business and the Environment." Former Vice President Al Gore will deliver the keynote address. Introductory remarks will be made by Dr. Amy Gutmann, president of the University of Pennsylvania. Wharton Professors Howard Kunreuther, Stephen Kobrin, Eric Orts, Kenneth Shropshire and John Paul MacDuffie will lead panel discussions and teach master classes.
The Switzerland forum will be held in Zurich on June 29-30, 2007 with the theme, "A Heritage of Innovation." Peter Wuffli, WAM'99, group chief executive of UBS, will serve as one of the keynote speakers. Confirmed speakers include, Alain Levy, WG'72, chairman and CEO, EMI Music, Jacob Wallenberg, W'80, WG'81, chairman of the board of Investor AB and vice-chairman of Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB, and Dr. Klaus Zumwinkel, WG'71, chairman of the board of managers, Deutsche Post AG. Wharton Professors Urban Jermann, Janice Bellace, Richard Herring and Raffi Amit will lead panel discussions and teach master classes.
