Undergraduate Division

Vice Dean & Director: Georgette Chapman Phillips

Founded in 1881 as the first academic degree program in business, the Wharton School is one of four undergraduate degree schools at the University of Pennsylvania (others: Engineering, Nursing, Arts & Sciences). The curriculum integrates liberal arts/sciences and business courses within a traditional Ivy League education.

Wharton offers five undergraduate degree program options:

  • Wharton Single Degree — Bachelor of Science in Economics
  • Coordinated Dual-Degree Programs, which offer two undergraduate degrees

The structure of undergraduate degree programs at Penn enables all students entering with single-degree status to also complete a second undergraduate degree. This option is a dual-degree program. It is not necessary to be admitted to one of the special dual-degree programs above in order to complete two undergraduate degrees.
