WCAI Student Spotlight

WG'13

"The meeting with Rachel Dell was unbelievably informative, especially in making connections between work we do in Prof Fader's classes & on-the-ground application. This is a great way for WCAI to make traction between academics & industry for students."

Upcoming Student Events

Congratulations to all graduating Wharton and Penn students!

Inside the Industry and Lunch 'n Learn Lecture Series

Participate in a discussion with industry leaders who have made an impact in the customer analytics industry. Across industries, changes are occurring due to the accessibility of customer data and the increasingly recognized importance of customer analytics. Executive in Residence Program and Coffee Chats

For students and senior executives who want a “concentrated” WCAI experience, we have designed the Executive-in-Residence Series. This is a one-day program in which students have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with the visiting senior executive for 30 minutes.  Prior to the meetings, we arrange the opportunity for student leaders from relevant clubs to have breakfast or lunch with the visiting executive. While WCAI does not dictate the agenda for the one-on-one meetings, students are expected to come prepared with questions on topics varying from a start-up idea to feedback on a resume.

Coffee Chats is a similar experience, though the visiting professional can be a recent graduate or human resources professional or the visiting professional is only available for periodic meetings instead of visiting for a full day.

Past executives who have joined us for these programs: Andrew Trader, W91, WG99, Founding Team, Zynga, EIR, Maveron, CoFouner, Coremetrics; Sanjay Dholakia,W91, CEO, Crowdfactory; Rob Bole, CP93, Vice President of Digital Stategy, CPB.

Mentor-A-Month

The Mentors Program began in September 2010 with a test group of 20 students, and the demand continues to grow. Students across Penn are welcome to participate, and WCAI has students from Wharton, the School of Engineering and Applied Science and the College of Arts and Sciences currently paired with mentors.  The mentors come from a variety of industries and companies and are frequently Wharton alumni.  The Mentors Program was designed to foster a one-to-one relationship between a student and an alumnus/a or WCAI industry contact.  This year we have slightly altered the feedback based on student and mentor feedback. The program will be rotational. Students will be assigned a new mentor each month in order to build their network and be exposed to many different perspectives in customer analytics.

Please send your resume to Nicole Berlucchi, WCAI Business Administrator, if you are interested in participating in our mentor-a-month program.

Student Outreach Board

WCAI utilizes its student board to assist with student outreach. We select students who represent relevant clubs and student majors at the undergraduate or graduate level. These include, but are not limited to: Tech, M&E, Retail, Energy, Engineering, Math, Marketing, Computer Science. These students act as ambassadors, hosting visiting executives for small group lunches or dinners and informing their respective clubs about upcoming events. Our student board will also provide feedback on current student programs and make suggestions for future programs.

Please send your resume, along with the student clubs with which you are affiliated, and your interest in WCAI to Nicole Berlucchi, WCAI Business Administrator, if you are interested in participating in our student outreach board. Decisions on board members will be made by September 16, 2011.
