MerchandisePromotional items help to communicate the loyalty and pride felt by members of the Wharton community and to reinforce connection with the School. It is important that these products reflect the Wharton brand and are not co-branded without prior approval.

Design GuidelinesBrand your merchandise with the Wharton name, and remember that all products of a department or intiative of the school must include the Wharton logo. No slogans or other elements should be placed on these products.
Use of the Wharton name and marks must follow Wharton's Design Standards and will only be approved if it is consistent with the brand and quality associated with the School. The Wharton name cannot be on the same side as event marks in merchandise. You can, however, use additional marks on the back or sleeve of a t-shirt.
Creating Wharton MerchandiseNo matter what merchandise you select, it must represent the Wharton name in quality. If it's new and/or custom merchandise you are ordering, ask for fabric swatches or, better yet, a sample of the merchandise. Most vendors will allow a few samples to be sent out prior to order placement. Use of the Wharton name and marks must follow Wharton's Design Standards and will only be approved if it is consistent with the brand and quality associated with the School. There is some flexibility in developing new merchandise, but when possible, existing and approved items should be used. If you need to develop a specialized item, please work with your appropriate Program Office or official liaison with the School, and follow the same process used for getting permission to use the Wharton name and marks by submitting a Logo Request Form.
Permission to Use Wharton Name and Marks for For-profit SalesAs per University policy, requests for such licenses are processed jointly through the Office of the Vice President for Business Services ("Business Services") and the Center for Technology Transfer (CTT). If Business Services and CTT determine that a proposed licensed use may be beneficial to the University, they may submit a proposal to the Secretary of the University for review. The Secretary will review the proposal and make a determination under the criteria stated above and may take particular note of the nature of the product, the proposed marketing plan, and the capabilities and reputation of the proposed licensee. If the Secretary approves the proposal, the CTT is authorized to negotiate a license that is consistent with the terms of approval. TOP
Permission to Use Wharton Name and Marks for Not-for-profit SalesFor student organizations raising funds solely to support program events and/or nonprofit charities, the licensing fees will generally be waived. However, all requests for use must be cleared through the relevant Program Office, as only an official division of the School can authorize use of the Wharton logo on merchandise. No individual or group of individuals may gain personal profit from any activity in which the official licensing and royalty procedure has been waived.
Where to Buy Wharton MerchandiseThe Penn Bookstore, Huntsman Hall store, and the Wharton Online Store are all official vendors who carry merchandise for the School. You can also order Penn and special event merchandise on the Wharton Online Store.
Approvals and ReviewAll new merchandise will be reviewed and authorized to ensure that it conveys the right message.
