How to Create a New Wharton-Branded Powerpoint Deck

  1. Download the Knowledge for Action PPT template and Save to your Documents.
  2. Begin with the Cover slide.
  3. Add new slide and select desired layout ... go to Step 7 below ("How to Wharton-brand an Existing Powerpoint Deck").

How to Wharton-Brand an Existing Powerpoint Deck

  1. Download the Knowledge for Action PPT theme and Save to your Documents.
  2. Open the existing PPT document.
  3. Select Design in the top menu to see a drop down menu.
  4. Select More (a tiny icon with a line and down-arrow) and choose Browse for Theme.
  5. Choose the Knowledge for Wharton PPT theme that you saved in step 1.
(You will notice immediately that your deck has changed in style in the PPT "Slide Arrangement" viewing area on the left. Begin with the first slide and work your way through each slide.)
  6. Save As... a different version of this working deck before continuing.
  7. In the Slide Arrangement viewing area, right-click on the first slide and choose Layout > "Deck Cover" layout. Then again choose Layout > Reset Slide.
(Your first slide is now styled to the Knowledge for Action PPT theme. It may not look "right" depending on how you laid out the original cover page. You can come back to it and make adjustments.)
  8. Repeat Step 6 until you have assigned layout and reset each slide. Again, it may not look "right" yet depending on your original design.
  9. After all the slides have been "themed," go back and fine-tune each slide to fit your messaging. You may adjust almost anything (font size, etc), but keep true to the standards theme.
