The Wharton Logo and Name

The Wharton logo and name are the School's most important brand assets, and it is the responsibility of each one of us to make sure they are used effectively. In this section you will find guidelines for the correct use of the School logo and name.

notice Before you use the logo: Are you using the School name and logo graphics correctly? The School has guidelines for specified users: faculty and staff, alumni, students, and external groups.

The School Name

The name "the Wharton School" is used for the School and its administrative units. When representing the School, use the "The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania" or "The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania" once in every communication. Note: When used in the middle of the sentence, the "T" in "The Wharton School" is lowercase.

In normal day-to-day written and verbal communications, and after the first reference, the School can be referred to simply as "Wharton" or "the School" (capital "S").

The School Logo

The Wharton logo has the following three components, which must not be separated (Note: the "small logo" version has the same three elements, reconfigured for legibility in small size use):

1) The Penn shield
components of the Wharton logo
2) The logotype "Wharton"
3) The identifier
"University of Pennsylvania"

All Logo elements must appear together in the prescribed configuration without any resizing or moving of the component parts.

Logo Fonts

In the logo, the Wharton logotype and tagline are unique graphics, not fonts. Never substitute a standard type font for the Wharton logotype.

Logo Colors

The Wharton logo consists of two colors: Penn Red (PMS® 201)* and Penn Blue (PMS® 288)*. These are the official colors for both the School and the University.
