MBA Resource Guide 2007-2008

The Wharton MBA program is both rigorous and flexible.

It combines a strong core curriculum with a wide selection of electives. Classes in the core develop essential business knowledge, while electives allow students to explore personal interests and build a single or double major from one of 18 areas of study (including the new Management major). Throughout the program, classroom learning is complemented by hands-on experiences to foster leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. The array of elective courses enables students to tailor elective course to specific interests.

We encourage you to explore the resources available at both Wharton and Penn.

Faculty Perspective

"With my MBA students, there is a real motivation to build professional skills and practical capabilities. I like having students who are vocal and willing to express their thoughts. And I like the fact that students play an active role at Wharton. For example, we have an operations club that students created... They've made presentations at faculty meetings. These students are not sitting back and watching — they are incredibly active."

— Karl Ulrich, Professor of Operations and Information Management
