“I was at an earlier point in my career than many of the people in my program, and I wanted a way to advance my career by building a solid academic financial background.”

Fellows Candidates

Fellows candidates are those who have less than 8 years of work experience. Organizations support fellows candidates because of their outstanding promise for advancement in a managerial career.

Letter of Nomination

Required. The sponsoring organization must submit a formal letter on company letterhead. The letter must:

  • Explain the exceptional managerial potential of this candidate; and
  • Confirm a commitment of full financial and program-related support and an understanding of the time requirements of the program for class attendance and study.

Financial Support

Required. Fellows candidates must receive full financial support, and the sponsor's letter must confirm this support. NOTE: Applicants and sponsors may contact us in Philadelphia or San Francisco to review special circumstances that would influence these support requirements.

Career Development Plan

Required. Understanding how a candidate's experience at Wharton fits into a career development plan back at work benefits both applicant and sponsor. Such a plan frames how earning the Wharton MBA can lead to broadened responsibilities and opportunities within the firm. Sponsors and students who stay in regular communication about the program use the experience not only to advance personal skills and knowledge, but also to address specific challenges at the office.
