I was a senior engineering manager at Boeing, leading a system engineering group in the Space & Intelligence Systems division, when I decided to attend the Wharton MBA Executive program in San Francisco. At that point in my career, I wanted to broaden my background and open opportunities to move into general management. Since Wharton, my scope of responsibility has dramatically increased from leading 1,500 engineers in the Flight Engineering discipline across an entire business unit now to launching our Research & Technology Center in India. Wharton has provided the foundation skills to provide me with the business acumen to lead teams effectively with an eye towards financial results. In addition, launching a new international venture for Boeing from the ground up would not have been possible without my Wharton background and key courses such as Corporate Finance, International Finance, Geopolitics, Marketing, and Macroeconomics.

A full MBA
I chose Wharton because, of all the executive MBA programs I looked at, it was the most intensive — in its curriculum and class hours. If you just do the math, this program has almost twice as much class time as others. If I'm taking two years out of my life, I wanted to be able to look at the MBA and know it is a full MBA. I have been thrilled about the amount that was covered in the classes and the fact that no corners are cut. It is complete.

Immersive learning
When you sign up for this program, the learning doesn't stop outside the classroom. There is a virtual learning environment called webCafé and I got together with my study team during the weeks we were not in class. It is really full immersion. You are learning all the time during the two-year program.
