When I started the program my position was VP of mergers and acquisitions for UPS, and during the second semester, I became CFO of the UPS Supply Chain Solutions Group. I learned progressive ideas about supply chain management at Wharton and was able to put them to work in real-time situations. Wharton helped me to create an environment at the office where strategic and operational ideas that emerge from academia and other corporations are evaluated and implemented alongside of the traditional strengths of the company. Since then, I have moved to Domino’s Pizza, first as EVP of Finance and now as EVP of Food and Supply Chain Services.

Access to the best minds
I knew an MBA would help me put my experience into perspective and help me crystallize my vision for the future. At the same time, I would be sharpening my managerial, organizational, and financial skills. I chose Wharton because I wanted access to some of the best minds in the areas of finance, operations, and logistics, and I knew the faculty members at Wharton would be vital in helping me frame the thinking to achieve my career goals.

Strong and close friendships
The interaction and student relationships formed are the type of strong and close relationships that, frankly, are ordinarily difficult to create during adult life. Not since my undergraduate program have I formed the close ties I found during this program. Other than my family time, I most looked forward to the time spent with my Wharton friends.

Diverse perspectives
I chose Wharton because I wanted fellow students and professors from a wide spectrum of organizations and schools of thought to challenge me to think more broadly and translate my goals into feasible, executable plans. I'm pleased to say that this was definitely the case.
