Leadership Ventures
Wharton Leadership Ventures are learning trips that take students out of their comfort zones and into hands-on experiences in order to explore the qualities of effective individual and team leadership in business and beyond. Designed to foster forward thinking, risk awareness, and fast, effective decisions, leadership ventures help participants think strategically, communicate effectively, and act decisively. Executive MBA students are able to participate in Leadership Ventures as the program schedule allows.
The ventures have included:
- Mountaineering Adventure Trips
Students gain experience and insight from the leadership and teamwork challenges of week-long mountain climbing trips that have taken recent teams to Africa, Asia, and South America. - Military Venture (Quantico)
Students learn leadership and teamwork skills from military leaders. Students are placed into challenging situations that compel them to apply the skills they've discussed in classes and discovered with their learning teams. - Antarctic Trek
Students follow in the footsteps and learn the lessons of adventurers Shackelton, Scott, and Amundsen, traveling across and camping on the ice of Antarctica's King George Island.
