International Opportunities
When you learn at Wharton, you can lead anywhere in the world. Our curriculum provides a wide range of global programs, from the international seminar to new Global Modular Courses to consulting opportunities in emerging countries. You learn the language of global business, engage with complex interconnected global issues, and gain opportunities to study and travel abroad.
Our faculty, who themselves come from dozens of different countries, work on global research topics and consult with local and national governments around the world, helping to draft policies, implement strategies, and train top international leaders.
The world’s 200 countries are more interconnected each year, technology and innovation are more paramount, and the role of government in business is more critical. Our curriculum is constantly evolving to meet the needs of students working within this increasingly global business environment.
International Seminar
The international seminar takes students inside individual companies and industries abroad, giving them an overview of the broader economic, political, social, and cultural factors that influence business opportunities and practice.
The capstone to the required core courses, Competitive Strategy and Global Strategic Management, this required seminar marks the culmination of a semester-long examination into how business firms develop and implement strategy in a competitive global context. More about the International Seminar »
Global Modular Courses
An innovative way of delivering global experiential learning, the four-day, full-credit global modular courses give students an on-the-ground view of business in an intensive workshop format. Students get a unique combination of local immersion, course concepts and emerging business issues in regions undergoing rapid change – for example, energy and infrastructure in Brazil, global supply chain management in China, and marketing in emerging economies such as India and China. In 2011, eight global modular courses were offered in Brazil, China, India, Israel, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. More about Global Modular Courses »
