Faculty Perspective

EMBA faculty
Maurice Schweitzer

“The curriculum is carefully constructed with a strong quantitative basis. It creates a strong foundation, and it provides students key tools for analyzing business situations. Our students know how to use analytical tools, which means that they share a foundation and common framework for thinking about difficult problems.”

Curriculum Curriculum

Depth, breadth, and options distinguish the Wharton MBA curriculum. The rigorous core builds a strong general management foundation, and from there, you follow your own special interests, choosing from one of the world's widest selections of MBA electives. The experience and knowledge that more senior participants bring to the executive MBA program adds another dimension to the learning environment.

The intensive first-year core curriculum creates a rigorous foundation of general management skills. In the second year students in each cohort build on this foundation by choosing a set of elective courses from the School's extensive offerings.

Wharton's core curriculum combines fundamental management knowledge with courses in essential skills for senior-level management, such as leadership, ethics, and management communication.

Wharton's wide range of faculty expertise allows for extensive elective offerings, drawn from one of the largest selections of any business school.

Recent classes have traveled to Hong Kong, India, and London to gain firsthand experience of competitive strategy in the global business environment.
