Rodolphe de Hemptinne
Rodolphe de Hemptinne, WG'04

“The Wharton community is very open to spouses. My wife Fiona's background was in business and pharmacology, and Philly is a hub for pharmaceuticals, so there were a lot of opportunities for her. Partners & Families

Spouses, partners, and families quickly become part of the extended Wharton community. From advice and networking on housing and employment, to organized activities for family fun, you will find resources and organizations that involve and support partners and families.

Wharton Partners Club is a networking and social organization for MBA students, their spouses and significant others. The club organizes social, cultural, and informational activities for its members and provides opportunities for community service at Penn and in the Philadelphia community.

In addition to activities, the club provides advice and networking for partners seeking housing and employment. The Greater Philadelphia region offers diverse job opportunities, with particular strengths in biotech, pharmaceuticals, health care, life sciences, insurance, telecommunications, and education. Many partners find work at the University of Pennsylvania, which is one of the largest private employers in the state.

Wharton Kids Club organizes activities and provides a support network for the families of Wharton students. Philadelphia, a family-oriented city with a range of living options, from city neighborhoods to suburbs, offers a rich array of historic sites, museums, and recreational areas. Beginning with Wharton Welcome Weekend, the Wharton Kids club helps new students and their families to adjust to their new life and make an easy move. During the school year and even the summer, the club organizes and sponsors a host of activities, from play groups to family outings to parents' nights out.
