DAY IN THE LIFE SCHEDULE: POORNIMA VARDHAM
7:30 - 9:00 It’s time to wake up to a relatively warm day in Philadelphia. The long and cold winter is finally over and the day ahead looks promising. I have my class starting at 10:30 today so I decide to go for a quick run by the river. 
9:00 - 10:30 I take a shower and get dressed for school. I answer all my emails, talk to my family in India before they go off to sleep, read the news and update my calendar for the day. I decide to walk to school, which is a convenient 20 minutes away to enjoy the weather and gather my thoughts.  
10:30 - 11:50 The first class of the day is OPIM. We will be discussing the Timbuk 2 case which makes us analyze the whether the company should outsource their production to China and look at Mass customization. With a Master’s in Operations research, I have a very good understanding of the concepts of Operations management. The case method for the class helps me implement all the concepts that I have learned and understand them better. Also, our excellent faculty talks to the class about his experience in the context of the case which enhances our real world learning. 
11:50 - 1:20 We break for lunch. I have to catch up with my friends over a quick lunch before I meet my India Club Executive Board members to plan for the upcoming events of the club.
1:20 - 2:50 I get into the Huntsman 10 minutes before the class to catch up with my cohort. The next class is Global Strategic management, one of my favorite classes at school so far. This class is an excellent introduction to how companies look at international expansion. Today we will be discussing the global expansion of Haagen Dazs. A number of people are asked to contribute their local country knowledge of the ice-cream industry with the class and hear different opinions. At this point, I am thinking about ice-cream. Classes are over for the day. 
2:50 - 4:30 I am scheduled to meet my team at 3 pm today to discuss the Marketing simulation problem due tomorrow morning. After grabbing a quick coffee at ABP, I head to the team meeting. We spend 10-15 minutes chatting up about the day and general campus news. We finally get down to working. After one and a half long hours of analysis and discussion we all come to a conclusion. We finish the problem and fix up time for the next meeting. 
4:30 - 5:30 I start my preparation for the 2 cases to be discussed in class tomorrow. After an hour, I am almost done with the analysis.  
5:30 - 6:30 It is time to play squash. I meet with a friend at Hutchison gym to play for about 45 minutes. 
6:30 - 8:00 I get back to the apartment and get dressed to catch dinner with a group of friends before dance practice. 
8:00 – 10:00 I meet my dancing groups in center city to practice for Dance Studio annual show. I am doing an Indian and an Arabic dance. Amidst hard work, fun, jokes and music we have a great practice and an even better time.  
10:30 - 11:30 After a long day, I meet up with some friends at a nearby bar. Lots of classmates are around.  
11:30 pm Its time to leave. I head back to my apartment and by 12 I am off to bed.
