Or Klier, WG'06
“As an international student, you need to learn about a new place in the beginning, to look at how people behave. Even cultural things, like the way you look at people's eyes when they talk to you, were different from what I was used to. It's a huge advantage learning this while getting an MBA, because you have the opportunity to learn in a safe environment.”

Because of Wharton's size and international composition, international students gain exposure not only to U.S. culture but also to the cultures of students from around the world.
Students also find it easy to meet others from their own country or region, with whom they can get together for shared cultural customs, events, and food — a benefit especially valued by students with partners and families.
Office of International Programs
is a valuable university resource for students who need to change their visa status or handle immigration bureaucracy. Within Wharton, twelve international clubs — including the African Student Association, the Wharton Arab Club, Europa, the Greater China Club, the India Club, and the Latin American Student Association — provide support to students from specific cultural backgrounds.
International students also find that Philadelphia is conveniently located between New York and Washington, DC, and that it combines many urban cultural advantages with smaller-scale, historic neighborhoods and accessibility to a variety of living preferences.
Reflecting Wharton's commitment to global issues and a growing international presence, Wharton has three international executive advisory boards of senior alumni and business leaders: Asia, Europe/Middle East/Africa, and Latin America. International alumni stay connected through more than 82 alumni clubs worldwide (45 outside the U.S.), and by taking part in three high-profile Global Alumni Forums hosted by Wharton each year in cities around the world.
If you are an international student considering Wharton, we encourage you to check our Admissions Events calendar and plan to join us at a reception in your region.
