Student Profile
MBA/MA of Environmental Studies

This MBA/MA interdisciplinary program, offered with Penn’s School of Arts and Sciences, offers a dual master of business administration and master in environmental studies degree in three years or less. Students from this program are positioned for global leadership roles in environmental management, finance and other business specialties.
Students take business classes full-time for three semesters at Wharton and spend a year in SAS’s College of Liberal and Professional Studies (LPS), which oversees the environmental-studies portion. LPS offers evening and summer classes, enabling students to work at the same time. Also, each student selects a research focus and develops a thesis, which when done simultaneously with the LPS work allows students to finish in two and a half years.
Wharton’s environmental and risk management track helps students develop a range of skills and knowledge they can apply in business practice. The MA portion deepens knowledge of environmental issues, teaches technical environmental evaluation and offers practical field experience.
Potential students must apply and gain admission to both schools independently. Once admitted, they may choose the interdisciplinary program.
