» Adobe Max 2007 Presentation
Learning Lab team members Alec Lamon, Charles Rejonis, and Erin Wyher presented at the Adobe Max 2007
conference in Chicago, IL. The presentation, entitled “A Virtual Trading Floor: Bringing Wall Street
to the Classroom”, described the process of transforming WSX (Wharton Securities Exchange) into a
web-based rich Internet application. The Learning Lab team detailed the developmental journey of WSX from its early beginnings as a client/server version to its present day existence as a rich internet application. Fueled by the expanding capabilities of ColdFusion, Flex, and Flex Data Services, WSX gained freedom from the client. This freedom ended the tribulations associated with client-based install and primed WSX for simple external adoption.
Implementing the latest versions of ColdFusion and Flex technologies ensured that WSX will remain an innovative learning tool to a new generation of students who are exposed to technological innovations on a daily basis.
