Classroom Design
The physical classroom design incorporates the latest technologies, including video cameras for conferencing and recording, dual video screens with projection equipment, and room controls, including a choice of filtering or blackout window shades.
The tiered classrooms were designed with a front entrance, 360 swivel seats, and wide aisles to maximize interaction with the professor and among students. If Wharton’s future classroom needs change, Jon M. Huntsman was designed to accommodate them: the risers used to create the tiers were built so that the rooms can be reconfigured as necessary. And while ports are available for laptops, one technological element is currently absent by design: network access is restricted at faculty request to minimize classroom distractions.
