  • Innovation
Wharton was the first collegiate business school in 1881, and that spirit of innovation still drives us today. Our professors create the new ideas that transform business and public policy around the world, and they bring that cutting-edge knowledge into the classroom, so that Wharton students and visiting executives can take the lead in innovating the new ideas of the future.

    Breadth and Depth
With the largest, most published, most cited business school faculty, Wharton offers research and courses in virtually every area of global business. Our professors' wide range of expertise enables in-depth knowledge of both core business fundamentals and specialized, cutting-edge research topics.

    Engagement
"Professors here don't walk in lockstep. They are individuals. Wharton hires the brightest people and gives them the freedom to do what they want to … and what they are best at. Every day, there is some kind of academic or intellectual event where people are presenting information I haven't seen anywhere else. Wharton is an intellectual smorgasbord so large that it's impossible to sample everything."

Thomas Donaldson, Professor of Legal Studies

Wharton's professors work with businesses, government agencies, and non-profit organizations around the world, including most of the Fortune 500 companies. Our engagement with real-world business practice helps us bridge the gaps between theory and practice, situating new knowledge in its real-world, real-time contexts.
