I am pleased to invite you to join us at three of the finest alumni gatherings in the world, the 2005 Wharton Global Alumni Forums.
The Forums capture the essence of the Wharton School -- we are a global community. All three Alumni Forums, this year in Singapore, London, and Santiago, are open to Wharton alumni, faculty, and students.
The first of these events, held in Singapore May 26-28, is being chaired by Charles Tseng WG'79, and will feature keynote speakers Goh Chok Tong, Senior Minister of the Republic of Singapore and Masamoto Yashiro, Chairman & CEO of Shinsei Bank, Ltd. A special feature of the Singapore Forum will be an optional tourism extension to Siem Reap, Cambodia under the patronage of Chanthol Sun, AMP'97, Minister of Public Works.
The second will be held in London June 9-12. Chaired by Sir Paul Judge WG'73, the Forum will feature Lord James Blyth of Rowington, Chairman of Diageo, PLC as a keynote speaker.
The final Forum takes place in Santiago June 30-July 1. Chaired by Claudio Engel WG'83, the Forum will feature keynote speakers Ricardo Lagos Escobar, President of the Republic of Chile, Vittorio Corbo, Chairman of the Central Bank of Chile, and Roberto Canessa, a Uruguayan survivor of the 1972 Andes Flight Disaster.

Can AIG Stay on Top?
To the lengthening list of fallen executives, add one more: Maurice "Hank" Greenberg, legendary CEO of American International Group, was forced to step down March 14 as investigators look at whether the company used complex insurance transactions to improperly pad its bottom line.
Greenberg's departure, after a four-decade reign that turned AIG from a sleepy also-ran into the world's biggest insurer, immediately raises questions about whether the company can stay on top -- or whether shareholders will suffer, as they have in so many corporate scandals. In the first five trading sessions after the Greenberg announcement, the stock fell by 7.6%. Nonetheless, shareholders held on to most of the outsized gains earned under Greenberg. Average annual returns for the past decade have been 15.5% versus 11% for the Standard & Poor's 500.
