Students enter with a variety of different backgrounds. Some have a master's degree in a related social science discipline; others have an MBA, in conjunction with some work experience; a few enter directly from their undergraduate coursework. In all cases, we look to identify students with tremendous intellectual aptitude who have demonstrated a meaningful interest and engagement in academic research. The GMAT or GRE general test is required of all applicants, there are no exceptions.

TOEFL Scores: Please note the Management program does NOT grant TOEFL waivers. Applicants who are not native English speakers must provide TOEFL scores to apply to the Management program.

Admission to Candidacy
Before admission to candidacy, the student is required to:

• Complete the course requirements as described.
  
  
• Take and pass the first-year screening examinations.
  
  
• Submit a satisfactory research paper.
  
  
• Take and pass the preliminary examinations as developed and administered by the advisory committee.
  
  

Financial Aid
Students are provided with full financial support, including tuition and a stipend.
