Volunteer
Take an active role in your Reunion – become a Class Volunteer!!
There is no more compelling reason to return for Reunion than to rekindle a friendship. The bond that you formed with your classmates is one that will last a lifetime and reunions provide a wonderful opportunity to catch up with one another every five years. Volunteers are instrumental to the reunion process and form the backbone of the reunion efforts. A call or an email from a classmate encouraging attendance at reunion has a great impact on the participation in this annual event and, volunteers themselves greatly enjoy and benefit from getting in touch directly with a large number of their network. As a Wharton volunteer, you will be part of a Reunion Committee. There are three main areas of focus for a reunion volunteer and they are detailed below:
Communication:
The communication volunteers will author personal letters to classmates to "drum up" attendance at reunion as well as reach out to them via phone or email to engage them in the weekend's events. Marketing the weekend to classmates and engaging them in reunion is a main focus for this committee. Bi-monthly conference call participation as well as attendance at reunion is required of this committee.
Participation:
The participation volunteers are the "cheerleaders" for the reunion effort. This committee will form phone chains to reach out to as many of their classmates as possible in an effort to get them to return for the weekend. They are looking to boost attendance at reunion as well as to impact the participation in the Class Gift Campaign. Volunteers will assist the reunion manager in identifying key prospects who can make a significant gift in honor of your reunion. Bi-monthly conference call participation as well as attendance at reunion is required of this committee.
Fundraising:
The fundraising volunteers on this committee will make a leadership gift in honor of reunion and set an example to classmates to follow their lead. They will strategize with the reunion manager on key prospects in their class and participate in the cultivation and solicitation of classmates along with the reunion manager. Fundraising will consist of peer to peer asks as well solicitations made by reunion managers. Bi-monthly conference call participation as well as attendance at reunion is required of this committee.
