Dear Wharton Alumni and Friends,

I am delighted to invite you to attend Wharton Reunion Weekend 2008, and I hope you will consider joining us at this exciting event.

Developing friendships with alumni and friends of the School is one of the highlights of my job, and perhaps no single event brings Wharton people together like Reunion Weekend.  The opportunities to celebrate common experiences, discuss topics that matter in business, reconnect with old friends and make new ones, are invaluable.  It is encouraging to note that, throughout all of their travels and success, so many Wharton alumni still consider the School to be their intellectual home.

The Alumni Affairs team is working hard to connect alumni to the School and to each other, and they need your help to make this year’s event a success. Wharton Reunion Weekend is important to the strategic success of the School because of the traditional Class Gift. You can make a collective impact by giving to your reunion class gift, which will provide immediate support of the programs and curriculum that make Wharton the outstanding institution that it is.  Please give a generous reunion gift or pledge based on your individual capacity to contribute.

Coming Back and Giving Back

Reunion Weekend is a celebration of the Wharton community and a time to return to campus to experience all of the changes that have occurred since your last visit. It is also a time to give back to the institution that fostered your success. In turn, the School depends upon the generosity of its alumni.

All alumni, whether they graduated five or 50-plus years ago, were supported in some way through the philanthropy of past generations of alumni. Tuition has never covered the full cost of the Wharton experience, so the School looks to its alumni in reunion years to participate in their class gift campaigns in support of The Wharton Fund and to make a special gift in honor of their reunion year.

Your support will impact Wharton students through enhanced financial aid, curricular and technological upgrades, business community outreach, faculty research, student programs, career services, and improved student life. Your contribution strengthens the value of your degree and the people and programs that ensure the School's continued development as a force in world-class business education.
