Marcos S. de Oliveira was appointed President &CEO, Ford of Mexico, as of September 1st, 2001.
Prior to his current position De Oliveira served as CEO & Group Managing Director of Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa in Pretoria, South Africa.
Marcos S. de Oliveira started his career at Ford as an Engineer in 1984 in Sao Paulo (Brazil). During his 20 years with Ford Motor Company he has held different responsibilities in areas such as Manufacturing, Engineering, Material Planning, Logistics, Purchasing, Business Planning, Marketing & Sales in the following countries: Brazil, Mexico, USA, Spain and South Africa.
Marcos S. de Oliveira was born March 7, 1960 in Brazil. He received his B.S. Engineering from the Industrial Engineering Faculty (FEI), holding also a Master in Business Administration. Both studies were completed in Brazil.
Under his leadership the Ford Hermosillo Assembly Plant, in the State of Sonora, has recently received the largest investment granted to a manufacturing complex in President's Fox administration for $1.6 billion USD ($1.2 Ford Corporate & $.4 suppliers). The FUTURA Project, currently under construction, will become one of the most advanced, lean and flexible manufacturing sites in the world
