Raúl Muñoz Leos is Chief Executive Officer of Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX) since December 1st, 2000 , when he was appointed to this position by President Vicente Fox Quesada. Formerly, Raúl Muñoz Leos was President and CEO of DuPont México and Chairman of DuPont, S.A. de C.V.
He joined DuPont in 1963 where he held numerous assignments and responsibilities in manufacturing, sales, marketing, engineering, planning and human resources. He received his BS in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).
Raúl Muñoz Leos has been President of the Instituto Mexicano de Ingenieros Químicos, National Vice-President of COPARMEX, and President of Grupo Diálogo de Inversión. He has also served on the board of the Asociación Nacional de la Industria Química, the Fundación Mexicana de Desarrollo Rural, the Patronatos del Museo de San Ildefonso and the Facultad de Química at UNAM.
