Professor Wind Wins Top Marketing Award

Professor Yoram (Jerry) WindYoram (Jerry) Wind, Lauder Professor and Professor of Marketing, is the 2007 winner of MIT’s Buck Weaver Award. The award recognizes the person who best combines theory and practice in marketing. This honor was established by General Motors to recognize its first director of marketing research, Henry Grady “Buck” Weaver, a pioneer in marketing research and marketbased decision-making.

Wind is the second Wharton professor to win the prestigious honor in the five years that it has been awarded. The very first winner in 2003 was Wharton’s own Paul E. Green, professor emeritus of marketing, who was the unanimous choice from a list of 25 nominees from business and academia for his pioneering development of conjoint analysis.
